Omanta Scuba Diving Academy is a PADI base in the wider Muscat/Seeb area. Its profile fits dive courses, local trips and outings toward the Daymaniyat Islands, the same area where whale sharks can play a role in summer.
Whale sharks and Daymaniyat
For shark encounters, the seasonal whale-shark chance is the main point here. Realistically, this is more likely to be whale-shark watching or snorkelling at the surface while the animals feed in plankton-rich water. With luck, they may appear around the boat trip or on a suitable day outing, but it is not a scheduled scuba dive with whale sharks.
The regular dives remain the core: Daymaniyat stands for reefs, turtles, rays, fish schools and clear island diving off Muscat. Divers who want to combine training or relaxed boat days with a seasonal whale-shark search are in the right place here.
Area and season
The best whale-shark window is roughly July to October. In this warm period, it helps to stay flexible and plan more than one attempt. For pure diving conditions, the cooler months are often more comfortable, while summer can be biologically especially interesting.
