Aloha Divers Okinawa is a PADI-oriented dive center on Okinawa Main Island. Alongside local Okinawa dives, the center organizes dedicated Yonaguni trips. It suits divers who start on Okinawa and want to add a focused hammerhead component.
Shark diving
The shark encounters on the Yonaguni trips are scuba drift dives in blue water. The target species is the scalloped hammerhead, especially in the January to March winter window. This is not an easy tour: Advanced Open Water or higher, many logged dives, good buoyancy, comfort with depth and current, and drift-diving experience are expected.
Okinawa between trips
Away from Yonaguni, Okinawa Main Island is more about easier reef dives, courses and normal boat days. Coral, reef fish, turtles and relaxed local sites are the main draw. Divers looking for simple house-reef diving get a different programme from the demanding hammerhead trips.
