Blue Magic Scuba Diving Service is in Urasoe near Naha and works well as a flexible day base for Okinawa. From here, Kerama, Chibishi, Aguni, Tonaki, Manza and stronger drift sites can all fit the programme. The offer ranges from standard fun dives to demanding blue-water and big-fish trips.
Shark diving
The strongest wild-shark angle is Triangle/Granblue. Hammerheads are possible there in spring, especially March to May. These are scuba drift dives for experienced divers: deeper water, current, quick descents, solid buoyancy and good fitness matter. There is also a separate whale-shark dive off Yomitan. That encounter takes place in a controlled offshore facility and is connected with feeding, so it is not a wild whale-shark site.
Kerama, Chibishi and whales
Beyond shark themes, Blue Magic offers classic Okinawa diving with reefs, turtles, barracuda, rays and clear island sites. The Whale Swim programme is about humpback whales, which visit the region in winter for breeding and calf rearing. It is not a shark encounter, but it can be a separate reason to travel for marine-life enthusiasts.
