Wolf Rock Dive Centre specialises in challenging dives at one of Australia’s best-known big-animal dive sites. The starting point is the region around Rainbow Beach in Queensland. The centre is aimed primarily at experienced recreational divers seeking encounters with sharks in the wild.
Diving with sharks at Wolf Rock
The focus of the dive operation is on the legendary dive site. The offshore rock formation is internationally known as a seasonal gathering place for sand tiger sharks. During the peak season, several dozen animals can be observed on individual dives at the same time.
The dives take place without baiting. The sharks move freely along the drop-offs and cave structures. For many divers, Wolf Rock is one of the most impressive shark-diving sites in the world.
Schedule and safety concept
Wolf Rock Dive Centre works with clear participation requirements. Diver experience, very good buoyancy control and solid capability in currents are required. The briefings are detailed and focus on behaviour around large animals, current conditions and emergency procedures.
Trips are run with specially equipped boats for offshore diving. Group sizes are deliberately kept small.
