The Dive Bus Curacao is a lively dive base near Marie Pampoen, close to Mambo Beach, Pierbaai Reef and Car Pile. Alongside guided shore dives and courses, the centre organises 2-tank trips to Eastpoint, the remote eastern tip of Curaçao. The trips run in cooperation with SeaNatives and start after the equipment check at the base via Caracasbaai Marina.
Shark diving
The shark angle needs a careful reading. Curaçao is not a destination for guaranteed shark dives. At Eastpoint, however, encounters are more realistic than on many heavily dived house reefs because the reefs are remote, current-swept and comparatively little affected. Nurse sharks under ledges or a distant Caribbean reef shark are possible there, but they remain rare bonus moments.
That fits the character of the trip: Tarpon Bridge, Punt Kanon, Black Rock, Smokey’s and Katie’s Paradise stand for boat diving, drift, clear water, tarpon, barracuda, turtles and, with luck, sharks as well. Divers travelling only for sharks should keep expectations modest; divers who want to see Curaçao’s remote reefs get a strong trip here.
Area and logistics
The tour depends on weather and conditions. Eastpoint is reached by boat, current and swell can matter, and the base puts safety ahead of predictability. That is why no fixed shark season is listed. For divers, recent practice, calm buoyancy, good group discipline and flexibility matter more than choosing a particular calendar week.
