Atoll Divers

Atoll Divers is located on Coral Strand Road in Beau Vallon and operates as a PADI dive center. For comfort, the boat carries no more than twelve divers. Underwater, each guide accompanies a group of no more than four people. Alongside courses and local dives, the center offers longer safaris to remote sites.

Grey reef sharks and whale sharks

One of the special destinations is Stork Patch, where grey reef sharks are seen regularly. Grey reef sharks may also appear at the Ennerdale wreck and other remote sites. These destinations are visited only when sea conditions allow and, depending on the site, require sufficient experience.

From August 15 to November 15, the center offers a dedicated snorkeling search for whale sharks along northern Mahé and toward Conception and Thérèse. This is not a scuba dive. Atoll Divers rules out any sighting guarantee and requires a minimum distance of four meters, no touching and no feeding.

The most suitable travel periods

Local diving is possible throughout the year. For more distant shark sites, the center particularly recommends March to May and October and November, when the sea is often calmer.

The whale shark season is more narrowly defined from August to November, with September and October considered especially promising in the region. A stay of several days provides additional weather windows but cannot replace a sighting guarantee. Short-notice changes of destination are normal when wind or currents require them.
