A tragic accident occurred on Sunday at the Great Barrier Reef. A 39-year-old man died in a shark attack while he was presumably spearfishing off the coast of Queensland.The incident took place at Kennedy Shoal, a reef off the Cassowary Coast in Australia. Emergency services were called to the Hull River Heads boat ramp, located approximately 160 kilometers south of Cairns, after the private boat of the victim and his companion docked there.According to reports from The Guardian and SBS News, a second person was in the water with the victim. This person was able to pull the injured man back onto the boat and bring him ashore, but all help came too late. Despite immediate rescue attempts, the man died on the spot.
