A 40-year-old surfer was severely injured by a shark on 4th July in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, suffering a bite wound approximately 25 centimetres long on his leg, according to Fox News.
Despite the severe injury, he survived the attack.
New Smyrna Beach is known as the “shark attack capital” of the USA – primarily due to the high number of encounters between people and sharks in the area.
