Bounty Hunter Shark Adventures

Bounty Hunter Shark Adventures sails from several ports in Massachusetts to the deep-sea sharks of the Atlantic. The six-hour tours are aimed at small groups of no more than six guests; in addition to private charters, individual places are available on public trips from South Yarmouth.

Cage diving with blue sharks

The custom-built cage aboard Fins holds two people at the same time. According to the provider, no diving experience is required; masks, snorkels and a selection of wetsuits are provided. If you don’t want to go into the water, you can watch the sharks from the cockpit.

Blue sharks are the main target species. Also possible are shortfin makos, porbeagles, great white sharks and occasionally tiger sharks; Thresher sharks and hammerhead sharks are mentioned without a precise species identification. The advertised success rate of 98 percent is a provider statement and not a guarantee.

Six hours on the open Atlantic

The trip to the area, located approximately 25 miles offshore, takes approximately 90 minutes each way. Departures are available between June 24th and September 30th in South Yarmouth, Fairhaven, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. The final port must be confirmed in the reservation.

Public trips from South Yarmouth start at $401.25 per person and require a minimum of five paid seats total. Private charters there start at $2,193.50; the island departures are more expensive. Water and sports drinks are provided, guests bring their own lunch and snacks.

When booking, the valid deposit and cancellation period should be confirmed in writing: The tour pages state a 20 percent deposit, the general conditions 15 percent. Both seven days and 72 hours appear as the deadline for charging the full price.
