A 40-year-old surfer was seriously injured by a shark on July 4 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. According to Fox News, the man suffered a bite wound about 25 centimeters long on his leg.
Despite the severe injury, he survived the attack.

New Smyrna Beach is considered the “shark attack capital” of the USA – mainly due to the high number of encounters between humans and sharks in the area.
