Jedivers is a Brazilian dive centre focused on guided recreational dives in nearshore reef areas. The offer is aimed at certified divers looking for structured dives with experienced guides.
Diving with sharks
A key feature of diving with Jedivers is the regular observation of the Atlantic nurse shark. This shark species prefers shallow to mid-depth reef structures and can be observed during dives displaying calm behaviour on the seabed or under overhangs.
Encounters take place without lures or feeding. The sharks show natural behaviour and generally react calmly to divers. Sightings depend heavily on local conditions, but are considered reliable.
Atlantic nurse shark
The Atlantic nurse shark is a bottom-dwelling shark species that is often found resting during the day. Divers consider it easy to observe because it is not very shy and often stays in the same place for longer periods. The species is not aggressive and poses no risk if treated with respect.
Jedivers uses these characteristics for controlled dives, where distance, positioning and group discipline are clearly specified.
Dive schedule
Dives are conducted in small groups and are accompanied by local guides. Before each dive, a detailed briefing takes place. It covers the route plan, maximum depth, behaviour around sharks and safety rules.
A valid diving certification is required. Depending on the site and conditions, diving experience may be necessary. Equipment is regularly maintained and meets common safety standards.
