Divinguru operates several seasonal bases in Sri Lanka. The Unawatuna base sits on the south coast and is mainly open from November to April.
Sharks and diving
The focus here is wrecks, rock formations and reefs. Sharks are not a planned attraction; Divinguru mentions whale sharks on both coasts as a rare lucky encounter. For this base, that remains a seasonal bonus chance, not a guaranteed shark dive.
Area and season
The best south-coast diving period is roughly November to April. PADI courses, nitrox, fun dives and coastal pick-up make this a good fit for divers combining an established PADI team with wreck and reef dives.
